DESCRIPTION

The Rose of Jericho, also known as the Resurrection Plant or the Jericho Rose, is a symbol of renewal and transformation. In the realm of folk magic, it is associated with abundance, prosperity, blessings, protection and even love. In the dormant state, this plant appears to be dry and lifeless. However, when immersed in water, this dry and lifeless ball undergoes a miraculous change.  It turns into a lush, green plant! This transformation is a powerful symbol of rebirth, renewal, and eternal life.

Magical Properties - Prosperity

When it comes to magic, the Rose of Jericho is used in various ways and for multiple purposes. It is best known to attract wealth and financial growth when used in prosperity spells. Business owners, for example, use the Rose of Jericho to draw customers into their establishments.  When used in prosperity spells to attract wealth and abundance,  its unfurling leaves are believed to draw in positive energies and financial growth.

Purification & Protection

Additionally, the Rose of Jericho is used for purification and protection.  The water that turned the dry lifeless ball into a vibrant plant is taken and then that water is used to cleanse and ward off negative influences.

Healing

The transformative qualities of the Rose of Jericho make it a powerful tool in healing rituals.  The transformation symbolizes recovery and renewal. In order to harness its healing properties, practitioners place the dried plant in a bowl of water, and allow the plant to open and come to life. Once it comes to life, the water in which it is submerged is used to anoint someone who is sick.

Love

In love magic, the Rose of Jericho is utilized to rekindle passion and foster reconciliation.  As new, fresh life is emerging into the plant, the same breath of life is energizing tired relationships.

How to Use Rose of Jericho in a Spell or Ritual

A Prosperity Spell for Abundance and Prosperity:

This is one of my favorite abundance spells, particularly when focusing on my business. However, it can be used for a number of money-related intentions. This would be an ideal spell for drawing wealth and prosperity into your home. For this spell, you will need the following items:

  • Dried Rose of Jericho
  • Orange peel, chamomile, basil, and bay leaves
  • A pot to simmer herbs in
  • A large bowl or plate

Begin by getting your pot and simmering the orange peel, chamomile, basil, and bay leaves. Let it simmer for approximately 15 minutes. Allow the water to cool completely. Then, strain out the herbs and retain the herbal water.

Next, place the Rose of Jericho in the middle of your large bowl or plate. Gently pour the cooled herbal water over the Rose of Jericho until it fills the bowl about 1/2 inch. When the Rose of Jericho comes back to life, take the water in the bowl and pour it into a spray bottle. Use this to spray down your front door and around the area where you keep your bank-related items or spray down your altar and altar tools. Consider spraying your wallet, or anywhere you hold money.

You can also simply let the Blossoming Jericho Plant continue to sit in the 1/2-inch of water. Leave this near your front door or in your place of employment. Change the water once a week.
